Medicare Home Healthcare

If your physician, nursing home or hospital discharge planner wants you to have home healthcare and you are eligible for Medicare home healthcare, Firstat Nursing Services can assist you with any of your needs. We are a Medicare Certified Agency with RNs, LPNs, and Therapists who will follow your doctor’s’ Plan of Care for you. You become part of our “triangle of care” Medicare program in which the participants are you, your physician and Firstat.

Firstat makes up a vital part of this triangle making the home care visits to you in your home to help you recover as quickly as possible. Our caregivers follow your physician’s orders. Along the way, your physician is informed of any changes in your care and condition. We are responsible to you and to your physician.

Please notify us and your physician if you are receiving Medicare home care now, and wish to change to Firstat. Meanwhile if you have any questions, please call us at 407-629-1100.

Understand, too, that Firstat’s on-call managers answer our phones around-the-clock…every day/night of the year… these are our employees. We do not have an answering service.

Medicare Homecare Tip

In order to qualify for Medicare homecare, a patient must be designated as “homebound.” You do not have to be bedridden, however your condition should be such that there exists a normal inability to leave home and requires a considerable and taxing effort. Short absences from your home are permitted as long as they are infrequent and are not for social purposes. For example, homebound patients are allowed to attend church, doctors’ appointments, as well as therapeutic and psychosocial treatment. Your home care company, physician and discharge planner can provide you with more detailed information if you require home care.
